Some think "OH NO!" Others think "Hey, there's a challenge to reduce emissions!".

Let's categorize!
I am...
1...vegan. Of course!
2...vegetarian. That's good, isn't it?
3...meat eater, but I tend to eat lots of veggies.
4...meat eater and PROUD!

To those who answered no.1. Congratulations! You are, food wise, what I would refer to as a carbon-Jesus! You have a minimum food carbon footprint and can go happily on enjoying your veggies! Just make sure most of them are locally produced, check your local market! Go you!

To those of you who answered no.2. Good on ya! Eating a vegetarian diet saves you 1 ton of carbon each year(compared to a meaty diet)! That's as much carbon emissions as one flight from New York to LA produces! But, hey, did you know that cheese production requires three times as much energy as meat production! Horrifying! It's going to be quite hard to cut down on the cheddar, but hey, it's a small price to pay for saving the planet!

For those of you who answered no.3. Not too bad, dude! You're definitely getting there! Why don't do like some people and go for a vegetarian weekday alternative. Most lunch spots usually have a vegetarian alternative, so go for that instead of the beef or chicken. And try eating vegetarian when you eat out. And why not try buying less chicken and minced meat and add tofu or soy to your regular meat meals. Then you won't even taste the difference. And from there, the step to leaving out the chicken or the minced meat is quite small. Go on, go on, you know it would be a smart choice!

For those of you who answered no.4. Oh dear...I fear that whatever I say it's just going to be like hitting my head against a brick wall. Let me ask you this: are you concerned about global warming? If yes, then you shouldn't be proud of eating meat since meat production requires huge amounts of energy. If the answer is no, then please have a look at the blog entry from a few days ago. Then, you silly little fuck, consider again your answer to the previous question. It's never too late to change your opinion. I know it can sometimes be hard to swallow the pride (I mean it's so MANLY to eat meat, now isn't it?) and start accepting veggies into your life, but there's really nothing to be proud of in contributing to the warming of the planet just because you can't give up munching on stakes, chicken and bacon.

If you're still not convinced, I sure do hope, for the sake of the planet, that you choke on a chicken bone and die.

As for myself, I fall into category 2. And as a challenge for myself, I hereby swear of cheese. I allow myself to eat meals that others have prepared (like my brother, he can't cook without cheese) that contain cheese and to have one slice of bread or cracker with some cheese on weekends, but that's it! No more mozzarella salads, no more parmesan on my pasta!

Comical relief as a video of a cute cow farting!

Beauty comes from within...

...but it's still nice to stay clean.

A friend wanted me to talk about environmentally friendly shampoos. Sure, I can do that. But why stop there, when there's the entire spectrum of beauty products to review.

First things first, why is beauty products even relevant to gw(=global warming). Well, since most of the products we buy are farmaceutical and/or chemical products they are made in big factories with a big carbon footprint. The production process also exploit resources like water and the companies usually conduct animal tests. I don't know but you guys, but I sure as hell would feel bad to wash myself with something that harmed doggies and bunnies, just so that I can stay clean or have red lips. Now fuck that!

You wouldn't believe how much eco-friendly products there are out there! One of my favourite shops is LUSH! Hand made, fresh, ecological beauty products that looks so tasty and cool you almost want to eat them! I bought their shampoo for dandruff and a deodorant. The shampoo smelled lovely but didn't really help with my itchy scapl. A friend told me they have a green tea shampoo that's just brilliant for itchy scapl. So, bad choise on my behalf. The deodorant works great though! Who would have guessed that something so environmentally friendly and skin friendly (no aluminum which is really bad for your body!) would keep the bad smell off! Yay!

I have also tried making my own beauty products with what I find in the kitchen and some other cool stuff like rhassoul clay (not me in the pic, I would never wear fur.) Rhassoul has to be my all time favourite beauty product. You can buy the clay on-line (I got some off a friend who bought it in denmark). Then you can use the dried clay for lots of stuff, like shampoo, face masks, body wash and so on. What you do is that you just mix the dried clay with some water and then get yourself dirrrty! It's so much fun! Really redommended for sauna parties. You can even have a mud fight! Rhassoul is really good for your skin and cleanes without drying out. I use it as a face mask mixed with some sunflower oil and honey and my skin is softer than ever before! You can also buy ready made rhassoul shampoo in most ecoshops that sell urtekram products. I haven't tried it but lots of reviews online recommends it for dry scalp.

Other cool beauty products that you can make at home in your kitchen (save money and environemnt!) is for example body scrub. Mix up some sugar, honey, olive oil or sunflower oil and some herbs of your choise or why not try green tea and scrub yourself! Works just as well or even better as the expensive products that you buy from shops. You can also use salt instead of sugar, but then just don't use it in your face. For a face mask for dry skin, mix natural eco-youghurt with corn flour and then add mushed up banans or green tea or herbs or whatevery you find in the kitchen or you think smell or taste nice. Your skin will love it!

Lot's of my friends use this recipe for a home-made hair removal wax and they say it works better than any shop wax. I haven't tried it out because I prefer to keep my fair, thin hair on my legs ;-). Go equality!

For the finish off, use some nice eco and/or animal friendly cosmetics like Joe Blascoe or Dr.Hauschka.

So why don't throw a party and make lots of cool stuff with your friends. For more home made cosmetics, just explore google. Then pamper yourselves! Because your worth it!

Oh, I just find this cool video with cool people making cosmetics at home.

Climate challenge- The Game!

I'm sort of a gamist, therefore my heart took a big leap and shouted "FUCK YEAH" when I encountered this

Climate Challenge- The GAME

It's a game created by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change- IPCC. Prepare myself mentally and physically for COP15

Why goal 1? Because most of the stuff on climate change that you encounter out there is quite boring shit. I am not even going to try to be politically correct or cheery about the subject. I'm goin to curse, be sarcastic, throw shit in your face and humour myself and others through the process.

Why goal 2? Because most of you people are lazy ass sons of bitchess. Ever so often encounter people who are genuinly concerned, but never lift a finger to do anything about the matter. So I want to show you that even a lazy fucks like myself can lift the ass from the chair and find funny, not that difficult ways to combat this global threat.

Why goal 3? Because I'm a lazy ass. But I don't want to be one. I want to be one of those I look up to myself, one of those climate-jesus people that walk around with a smile on their face knowing that when doomsday comes (god forbid) at least they did all they could to stop it. Happy out!

Why goal 4? Everybody can turn a light switch and unplug a battery charger (except for my parents it would seem...now honestly, how hard can it be!?). But how about cooking yummy yummy pastries without eggs or milk? Or how about throwing a sauna party for fifteen people while saving the planet? Or how about diving in dumpsters? Or how about cycling in the snow? I'm gonna try all this and lots more that I just don't know yet! Because if other people can, sure as hell so can I!

Why goal 5? I'm going to Copenhagen for the big climate conference (by bus! Not plane!) and if I am to shout to big decision makers to make a change, I would feel very hypocritical if I wouldn't be a good example of that chang myself. I still have two months to go?
